In Karachi, on Monday, the authorities apprehended a school principal following accusations from five women of sexual assault and extortion. Law enforcement officers also found 25 video recordings on the suspect’s mobile phone.

This individual is the head of a school located in the Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of the city. To manipulate his victims, the suspect employed footage from closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hassan Sardar, responsible for District Malir. The senior police official mentioned that the investigative team is gathering additional information from the victims as they continue to look into the case.

This scandal came to light when an explicit video featuring the principal, identified as Irfan, and a female teacher began circulating on the web. Preliminary inquiries have indicated that the suspect coerced over 24 teachers and staff members into engaging in sexual activities with him.

Following instructions from Sindh Education Minister Rana Hussain, the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh (DIRPIS) established a committee to probe the incident. This committee includes Deputy Director Qurban Ali Bhutto, Assistant Director Mumtaz Hussain Qambrani, and Assistant Director Javed Akhtar. DIRPIS Additional Registrar Rafia Javed stated that the inquiry team would visit the school to gather further information. Action will be taken based on the committee’s findings and recommendations.

Additionally, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Riffat Mukhtar, after taking note of the incident, has requested a comprehensive report from the Malir police officer. Moreover, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has instructed Secretary School Education Sindh Ghulam Akbar Laghari to provide a detailed report on the incident. The governor has also directed Javeed Akhter Odho, the Additional IGP Karachi, to initiate legal proceedings against those involved in this grave offense.

In a statement, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has reaffirmed the commitment to pursue appropriate and pertinent legal actions in response to this incident. Last month, a woman reported being sexually assaulted in the x-ray room of Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi. The victim filed a police report at Waris Khan Police Station, indicating that she is divorced and had a prior relationship with the suspect, identified as Faizan Saeed, a resident of Gujjar Khan. The victim alleged that the suspect lured her to the hospital and committed the assault in the x-ray room.
