Specialty Sales Representative

Position Summary: The Specialty Sales Representative is responsible the for sales performance of the full portfolio within an assigned geographic territory through successful execution of marketing strategies. The role is responsible for growing business relation decision-makers decisions makers and influencers.

Responsible for focused detailing to specific targets with a carefully defined messaging strategy and call sequence, leveraging business and value solutions based on evidence, and outcome data, supporting the GI platform. Working with appropriate IDN hospital personnel concerning the transition of care and discharge protocols.

Location: The successful candidate must reside in the territory, this role will cover Durham to Chapel Hill.

Key Responsibilities: Focus on driving growth among GI/Critical Care target specialists and new accounts. Meets/exceeds sales and profit objectives in assigned accounts. Educate targeted healthcare providers on the benefits of a novel GI therapy within assigned territory.

  • Understand the GI healthcare environment and appropriately execute the selling process in a manner that is concise, compliant, professional, and persuasive; and which addresses a need and leads the customer to action.
  • Develop and communicate a deep scientific understanding of GI disorders, assigned, and competitive products within the GI marketplace
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term business relationships with key accounts and key opinion leaders within the GI community.
  • Develop and implement a territory-specific business plan and utilize all available resources to foster a successful sales environment
  • Effectively convey complex clinical and reimbursement product information to key stakeholders in a highly competitive marketplace.
  • Execute a customer centric needs based selling approach with targeted Healthcare Providers
  • Utilize the sales reporting systems regularly for call preparation, to record and track sales activity, and to gather market intelligence data.
  • Organize meetings and deliver content to healthcare professionals on the topic of GI and nutrition aligned with tangible account objects and metrics as defined by the customer.
  • Conduct promotional programs for both professional and patient audiences.
  • Attend local, regional, and national meetings as directed

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of medical/clinical selling experience with demonstrated success in specialty medical products OR 5+ years combined experience in sales with demonstrated success and clinical experience.
  • Consistently meets and exceeds sales targets
  • Ability to develop solid and long-standing business relationships with strategic/targeted customers.
  • Demonstrated solid financial and analytical skills
  • This position will require 25% or more travel to develop internal and external relationships (depending on geographical location)
  • A valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Project Engineer

The Project Engineer role is responsible for handling the introduction of new fixed assets into the company. This could involve the relocation and optimizing of the existing fixed asset base and/or the purchase of new fixed assets. It may extend from the initial conceptual studies through to project closeout.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support and encourage clear and open communication between the team members and related stakeholders, e.g. site and market management, PTC, CO Engineering, CT Packaging and the SBU
  • Ensure that the requirements of the client are maintained at all times in accordance with the business needs
  • Ensure that all projects are designed for the long term and result in a positive impact on the company ROIC
  • Ensure that design is directed towards a low cost, highly efficient and flexible operation
  • Ensure safe work sites at all times and installations that are easy to operate, clean and maintain as well as guaranteeing after commissioning the safe, consistent manufacture/distribution of quality products.
  • Ensure that when working with external engineering services, contractors, suppliers etc. that the scope, deliverables, performance and milestones are clearly detailed and agreed up front.
  • Ensure that a progress report is prepared for all projects on a monthly basis
  • Ensure that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timing
  • Ensure that the operators, mechanics, electricians etc. are effectively trained and that the transfer of the equipment to the client is both smooth and efficient. This includes all the supporting documentation that will be required by the client to operate and maintain the plant. e.g. operating instructions, equipment manuals, plant layouts, maintenance instructions, spare parts listing etc
  • Complete a final report on all projects and ensure that this is circulated to the key stakeholders
  • Qualifications:
  • (BA/BS) in Engineering Field. (Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience and minimum 3-5 years of technical experience
  • Strong technical, managerial and leadership skills in Project Engineering/Management
  • Knowledge of plant design and construction
  • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and equipment
  • Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers
  • Understand of CAPEX budgeting and preparation processes
  • Proficiency in Capital Investment Approval & Tracking (CIAT) tool
